Conference organised together by MAF Finland and Helsinki Electric Aviation Association

The 5th Ecological and Electric Aviation conference is co-organised by MAF Finland and Helsinki Electric Aviation Association. The purpose of the conference is to provide up-to-date information on the fast evolving eco-development in flying technology. The aim is also to highlight the opportunities to businesses in Finland and other countries, and how this development helps to fight climate change.

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) founded 1945 is a charity that operates small aircraft in developing countries where distances are long, roads are difficult to travel or there are no roads.  MAF operates a worldwide fleet of over 130 aircraft. Many development, mission, church and aid organisations including Unicef, WHO, and WFP use MAF services to help education and health care development. MAF also flies ambulance flights and is frequently organising catastrophe response using its aircraft. MAF Finland is a member of MAF International.

The development of ecological and electrical aviation and its technology is a very important issue for MAF Finland, as it is likely to change our operations significantly in the future. Flying and matters relating to flying are very important to MAF Finland in both developing countries and in Finland. As a result of global warming, matters related to ecological flying are naturally high on our agenda, as with all aviation operators. This is well known to us, because MAF flights are helping people in many areas, such as South Sudan and Chad, suffering from climate change. As an organization providing relief flights in developing countries it is natural for MAF Finland to support technical development and especially this in aviation and in Finland. Read more about MAF Finland’s work in Finnish language.

The aim of the Helsinki Electric Aviation Association is to build an electric aviation ecosystem around Pipistrel Alpha Electro electric plane to support the development of electric aviation in Finland. New ecosystem will support training, research, and development. Read more about Helsinki Electric Aviation Association.

MAF Finland and Helsinki Electric Aviation Association shall use the received contributions towards organising and marketing ecological and electric aviation conferences.
